About Us

Who we are, what we do, and what we believe

Our Vision

“To be a tree of life where lives blossom and love grows.” At MPWOC, we believe our lives flourish when Jesus Christ is at the center. Our vision is our commitment to learn and live God’s Word so that our lives blossom and we grow in love for Him.

Our Mission

“Connect, Grow, Produce”

Our mission is how we answer Jesus’ Great Commission call to be disciples who make disciples (Matthew 28:19). Like a tree, we believe that as individuals and as a church, we should always be

  • Connecting to God and others
  • Growing in our faith in God and His purpose for our lives
  • Producing new disciples

Not only will our lives be fruitful when we follow God’s Word, but together, we will change the world by leading others to do the same.

Our Beliefs & Values

As followers of Jesus Christ, what we believe matters. It shapes how we think and, ultimately, what we do. At MPWOC, we believe in these core beliefs, which set the foundation of our faith in God.

God is the Father

We believe there is only one God who exists in three distinct persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God has always existed, created all things, and is the sustainer of all things. (1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17)

Jesus is the Son of God

We believe that Jesus is God, the second person of the Trinity, who became flesh to reveal God to man and become the Savior of the world. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, and conquered death and sin through His resurrection. It is through Him alone that a person can enter into a right relationship with God. (John 1:1, 14; John 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:16)

The Holy Spirit is Our Guide

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit convicts people of their sin, opens their heart and mind to be receptive to the love of God, and forever lives in the hearts of believers. The Holy Spirit prepares, strengthens, and encourages the believer to live in obedience to God. (Acts 5:3-4; John 6:63; 2 Corinthians 3:18)

Mankind Needs Jesus

We believe that man was created in the image of God to have a relationship with Him. However, because of sin, man was spiritually separated from God. As a result, man is incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God on his own effort and needs an intermediary, Jesus Christ, to be redeemed back to God. (Genesis 1:27; Genesis 3:22-24; John 3:16-18)

Our Lives Should Glorify God

We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. We mature and become more like Christ as we obey the Bible and follow the Holy Spirit. (Psalm 100:3; Galatians 2:20; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

The Bible is God’s Word

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God in its original manuscripts. We believe that the Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to mankind and is the supreme and final authority. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26)

Salvation is through Jesus Alone

We believe that salvation is when a person believes in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for sin. Because of the blood of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and saved. Eternal life begins the moment anyone receives Jesus Christ into his/her life by faith. (Genesis 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21; Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16; Galatians 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22)

The Church is the Body of Christ

We believe that the Church is a part of the body of Christ, where Jesus Christ is the head. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him, make Him known to a lost world, and equip its believers for service. (Ephesians 1:22; Ephesians 2:19-22; Ephesians 4:11-16; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23)

Life Exists Beyond this World

God, in His own time, and in His own way, will bring about the end of history. Those who have trusted in Christ will be taken into His presence of God for all eternity. Those who have chosen by free willto reject His gift of salvation will be eternally banished from His presence. (John 3:16, John 2:25, Revelation 20:15)
