Just a quick reminder of items we really need our members to step up and donate. Please think of our community when you’re doing your grocery shopping, running errands or even cleaning out your closets this week:
Socks and gloves. Church Without Walls and LOIK desperately need your donations of warm socks an gloves for both children and adults for Operation Bundle Up. The giveaway is from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, October 31. Please bring your purchases to church as soon as possible. Tip: You can get a pack of 10-12 pairs of Hanes and other name-brand socks for less than $10 at Walmart. Also at Walmart: A six-piece set for girls containing two hats and four pairs of gloves for $5.
Coats. The Manna and Quails ministry seeks gently used coats and jackets for men and women. Any and all sizes and styles are welcome. Check your closets and bring your items to ministry leader Elie Enoicy. Tip: Ask your work colleagues to check their closets, too. You never know who’s been holding onto a coat that’s too small or too outdated, but perfect for someone in need.
Food. We’re still in need of non-perishable items for our food pantry. The Barnabas ministry has a box located in the fellowship hall for your donations. Tip: At Food Lion this week, you can get four cans of Campbell’s Soup for $5. A single can of soup could mean a warm and hearty lunch for two hungry children.
